Tedesco Duo
7:00 PM

Tedesco Duo is a lively flute and guitar duo from New England comprised of Arielle Burke on flute and Catherine O’Kelly on guitar. They perform repertoire from all eras, with an emphasis on contemporary music. Arielle and Catherine began performing together in 2011 as students at The Hartt School. Their first performance was of Sonatina for Flute and Guitar by Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco, which is what prompted them to name the ensemble “Tedesco Duo.” They have since performed the works of composers such as Mauro Giuliani, Astor Piazzolla, Phillip Houghton, Libby Larsen, Roberto Sierra, and Máximo Diego Pujol. Tedesco Duo has been praised for their communicative playing and for performing repertoire that is colorful and spirited. This concert is sponsored by Golden Girl Granola. Admission: $15.00

Seven Times Salt
4:00 PM

Seven Times Salt is a Boston-based early music ensemble specializing in repertoire of the 16th and 17th centuries. Praised for creative programming and an “impeccably balanced sound,” STS has performed since 2003 at venues throughout New England including Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts, The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, Plimoth Plantation, the New England Folk Festival, WGBH radio, and many others. We have also researched and presented original programs for the Amherst, Bloomington, and Boston Early Music Festivals (Fringe), the Society For Historically Informed Performance, and our own self-produced concert series. We delight in blurring the lines between “art music” and folk tunes, and feel at ease performing in the concert hall, the dance hall, or the beer hall! Visit our website to learn more: http://www.seventimessalt.com/

As it is in Heaven
7:00 PM

“I passed the meeting house without saying a prayer” is one of the public confessions of the mid-19th-century Shaker women in Arlene Hutton’s play “As It Is in Heaven.” This modest, one-act play is a gentle portrait of a culture very different from ours.  Set in 1838, it explores issues of faith through the eyes of nine women in the Shaker village of Pleasant Hill, Kentucky and how their community is turned upside down when a newcomer claims to see visions of angels. Directed by Emilie Faucher. Suggested Donation: $15.00
