The Gingerbread House Cardboard Build

Calling all future engineers, architects, and artists! Help the Glenville Branch Library decorate for the winter season. Use MakeDos and cardboard to design a gingerbread house for our program room. Younger siblings and friends are welcome to assist with frosty decorations.

Part 2 of this program will feature construction and final decorations.

For children grades k-6. This program will be conducted in accordance with Schenectady County COVID-19 protocols.

Full of music and movement, Songs That Count! is a fun, high-energy performance that includes books, music technology, and visuals about math subjects like counting, addition, and subtraction. It’s inclusive for kids on the autism spectrum, and will even have parents and caregivers dancing along!

How do birds fly so high and so fast? Feathers! Join local children's book author Anita Sanchez for a reading of Rainbow Crow, based on a Lenape legend. Then examine and experiment with real bird feathers to learn how birds soar, dive, and hover. Participants will also design their own "flyers" using paper and other craft materials.
