Free 12 week-long learning circle for adults ages (18+) to build resources for a more prosperous life for themselves, their family and community. Learn about the causes of poverty, the importance of language, the hidden rules of economic class, increase your stability and create a future story for your life.
Complete the program and late fines from SCPL will be deleted from your library card. All workbooks and class materials are free thanks to a grant from the Schenectady Foundation.

This three-part workshop invites veterans and civilians alike to write about their experiences of war. Participants will learn basic craft-of-writing skills to articulate their stories. We will explore ways to access specific memories to create narratives.. Samples of classic and contemporary war literature will be used to stimulate imaginations. Participants will do writing assignments and share in this supportive, non-judgmental workshop. Open to adults 18+
Susannah Risley has developed many original approaches to writing programs and has worked with a variety of people. She has received several awards for fiction and poetry and has been published in a number of national magazines.
