Kindness Photo Challenge

Celebrate books that foster kindness with us this November!  We want to see your favorite BOOKS that inspire you to be KIND!  Family members of all ages, toddler to teen, are encouraged to participate. Snap a picture of your child holding up their favorite book about kindness.  Email it to us at afernandez@mvls.info with the subject line: Kindness Photo Challenge.  Photos submitted by November 30 will be included in a video montage celebrating kindness, to be released in early December. 

**Please note, by submitting your photo, you are giving the Schenectady County Public Library permission to post this photo publicly on social media platforms including Facebook, YouTube and Instagram.**

Friends Noon Programs: History Series

“Schenectady Genesis, Volume II: the Creation of an American City from an Anglo-Dutch Colonial Town, ca.,1760-1800.”
Local attorney and historian John Gearing will discuss his new book, which looks at Schenectady during the tumultuous final four decades of the 18th century, including two wars and it’s incorporation as a city in 1798.

Anne Blankman Author Visit

Please join us in celebrating local author Anne Blankman's newest middle grade novel, The Blackbird Girls. A graduate of Niskayuna and Union College, Anne Blankman has written 3 previous critically acclaimed historical novels for youth. The Blackbird Girls is centered around two girls and their forced friendship during the Chernobyl nuclear disaster.
