Introduction to Monologue Writing Workshop
7:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Calling all storytellers! In this course we will learn how to develop exciting characters and write compelling monologues for the stage.  Over the course of three workshops, students will be guided through a series of creative prompts that will unleash their inner dramatist as we explore the elements of dramatic writing. Through reading and discussing monologues by some of the most fascinating contemporary playwrights working today, students will leave the course with a better understanding of how to capture an audience’s imagination through the words of just one character.

Mora Harris, City Theater Teaching Artist, will conduct a three-part workshop in monologue writing. More information about our instructor may be found at www.moravharris.com.  A $10 registration fee is required. Space is limited.

Cliff Notes: Petrochemical Development in Southwestern PA, Industrial Buildup
7:00 PM - 8:30 PM

There has been a lot of industrial development in the Southwestern PA area in recent years. This informative lecture will review infrastructure buildup, starting from the drill-well site to the petrochemical plant (aka cracker plant) and everything in between. Lots of other elements are involved in this industrial development, including: truck traffic, creating holding ponds, pipelines, compressor stations, pigging ports and condensing facilities. Each part of these operations have different consequences and effects for the area population and the environment.  This program will examine the data and the science of each of these operations and how they are carried out.

Please register.
