Light Up Night 2017

Visit the Library from 6 PM to 9 PM to warm up, enjoy a cookie, and make a take-home craft during Light Up Night.  In the Children’s Department, we will celebrate our annual Trim-a-Tree Party. There will also be a holiday movie and a papercraft table for teens and grown-ups near the Reference Desk. Enjoy music ensembles from Chris Burgh’s QVSD Youth Ensemble and more.

The Watershed Association and the Village Garden Club of Sewickley will show us how to make our own holiday wreaths, from grapewive frames, using fresh evergreens. Please bring a bow or a small holiday decoration for your wreaths. GRADES 3-8.

Joseph Jefferson Jackson (a.k.a. "Shoeless Joe”) was a star Major League Baseball star of the early 1900s. His career ended with charges of conspiring to fix the 1919 World Series despite exceptional and record-setting play. his banishment changed the views on professional sport gambling, while the controversy over his guilt continues today.
