NEW TIME!

This is a 30 minute physical activity program to encourage young children to move, stretch, dance, and play games. The last 5 minutes we have Bubbles!

Ages 3.5 - 6 years

Story Time Chess is designed to teach children the game of chess through the power of stories. Must have completed Story Time Chess Level 1 to join this class.

Level 2A  is an 8 week session for children who already know the characters (game pieces) of chess and would like to learn strategy and the power of learning and thinking through stories. 

Story Time Chess is for children ages 4-6 years old. Level 1 teaches Piece Mechanics through the joy of stories. 

Registration is required for this 8 week class. Registration will open February 1st.

Meet local authors from the Pittsburgh region. Books will be available for purchase.

Author panel begins at 6:30 p.m. Author meet and greet to begin at 7:30 p.m.

Pre-walkers, Toddlers, their caregivers and older siblings will enjoy 20 minutes of reading, song, sign language, networking and early literacy activities. Come sing songs, play games, hear stories and learn fun new activities to try at home. 

Ages 3.5 - 6

Learn the basics of piece mechanics of Chess through stories. This 8-week sesson, (No Class on February 20th) will teach the pieces in a cumulative fashion. 

This program is designed for children entering Kindergarten in August of 2020. 

Fun activities will be designed to promote the skills listed for each week. Each program will build on the skills covered in previous weeks.

Children MUST be enrolled to enter Kindergarten Fall 2020 to participate.

7 hours to work on your own projects. Spread out and sort your photos, scrapbook, knit, any craft...you name it.

Each person will have their own 6 1/2 foot table to work on.

Open House Style: You can arrive any time during this 7 hour period and stay for as much time as you like.

Brings snacks/food and drinks for yourself...take a break for lunch and come back...you design the day as you see fit.

Scrabble.  Join us for a friendly game of Scrabble. Bring a snack for yourself and a Scrabble board, if you have one. No registration. No fee. This weekly program will be held in the meeting room next to the library.

Cryptography is the science of creating, deciphering, and sending secret messages. Children enrolled in this 4-week program must enjoy mathmatics, problem solving, and critical thinking activities.

Registration is required.

and capitalizing on investment opportunities can help when weathering market uncertainty.

WE HAVE 16 EXTRA SPACES ADDED!

A pysanka is a Ukrainian Easter egg, decorated with traditional Ukrainian folk designs using a wax resist method where the designs are not painted on, but written with beeswax.

Experienced pysanky decorators from St. Peter and St. Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Carnegie will give us the background about this tradition that has been around for centuries..Participants will be using beeswax and dyes to turn a regular chicken egg into a beautiful piece of art.

Each person who registers will make and take home a pysanka, beeswax and a kista.

Cost: $20/person for all materials (which includes a donation to the church as well!)
