URI Master Gardener Workshop: Introduction to Composting / Kingston Free

Is there anything more satisfying than making healthy soil? Don’t answer that — but if you’d like to learn about backyard composting, URI Master Gardener, Carol Horta, will teach you the why and how so you can generate your own nutrient-rich soil for use in your gardens! It’s all a matter of the right tools, the right materials, and the right procedures.

Carol Horta is a retired teacher who recently relocated from Massachusetts to Foster, RI.  While she has always had an interest in gardening, this property raised the bar due to its extensive existing flower gardens. Carol added vegetable beds as well. Desiring to be a good steward of the property, she promptly joined the local garden club. Carol completed URI’s Master Gardener course this spring. She is eager to participate in any and all discussions about the care and joy of green things!

To register, please email Britta at bobertello@skpl.org or call the library at 401-783-8254 ext. 4303.

This and other workshops offered through the URI Master Gardener Program are a free educational service and open to all.
