Mark your calendars for the National Penguin Awareness Day-January 20th.  We are lucky enough to have the National Aviary of Pittsburgh visits the library (in the Community Center) on penguin day!!!   The program is titled...Penguins are Cool!   Kids weill be able to discover all 18 species of penguin through a Powerpoint journey across the globe, and learn how these unique, flightless birds survive in their worlds.  After the 18 species road trip...the kids will be introduced to real live African penguins!!!  They will take center stage to showcasespecial adaptations and behaviors.  Elementary aged kids will love this program and the penguins too!

Why not have your child join us for a free tutoring session covering K-4th grade reading concepts.  Several tutors will be available to create small group tutoring sessions.  The event will be 2 hours long with the 1st hour focused on reading mechanics and the 2nd hour focused on reading comprehension and writing book reports.  A drawing will be available for 1 lucky student to win a Club Z! Mini Bookbag filled with school and art supplies.  Also, reading study/homework strategies will be sent home with every family that participates.  The Club Z! area director and the tutors will be available during and after the session to answer any further questions about Club Z! or study tips.
