Arcade on Wheels

The East Springfield Branch Library is bringing the Arcade on Wheels to your neighborhood! Arcade on Wheels is a state of the art, climate controlled, self-powered mobile arcade. The Arcade is a full size mobile arcade full of games that kids go on board to play, in which all games are set on free play. Some of the games on board include Ferrari Simulator, Airline Pilots, Grid, Vortex V3 (virtual reality), Terminator Salvation, Ghost Squad, Ultrapin, Ultracade (250 classic games in 1) 18 Wheeler, Star Wars and more!

For this special event, the Arcade on Wheels will be located in the parking lot of Genden's Auto Parts up the street from the library, at the corner of Osborne Terrace and Page Boulevard. Thanks to our generous community partner for sharing their lot!

Join us for an evening with Diana of Themyscira! Starting at 4:00 in the Mason Square Community Room, Sifu Li (Sifu Lisandro Vega) from Shaolin Kung Fu Martial Arts Studio in Springfield will lead a demonstration and workshop on basic self-defense, followed by a screening of Patty Jenkins blockbuster classic, "Wonder Woman." Are you disappointed about the way The Hunger Games ended? Do you think your favorite classic novel would be better if it had dragons? Do you honestly think you can write a better love story than Twilight? Then join us at the East Forest Park Library on the third Wednesday of every month, where pop-culture fans of every kind can explore their favorite characters and create stories of their own, through the marvelous world of fanfiction. We’ll have advice sessions for beginning authors and writing prompts to inspire new ideas—you’ll even have an opportunity to submit your work to the library’s blog!

What-Ifs & Fix-Its: A Fanfiction Club for Teens

Held on the 3rd Thursday of every month | For teens ages 11-18.

Are you disappointed about the way The Hunger Games ended? Do you think your favorite classic novel would be better if it had dragons? Do you honestly think you can write a better love story than Twilight? Then join us at the East Forest Park Library on the third Wednesday of every month, where pop-culture fans of every kind can explore their favorite characters and create stories of their own, through the marvelous world of fanfiction. We’ll have advice sessions for beginning authors and writing prompts to inspire new ideas—you’ll even have an opportunity to submit your work to the library’s blog!
