Help for Job Seekers Part 2 - ONLINE

This is a dynamic set of three, online workshops designed to help job seekers find success. Each part will review a variety of aspects affecting job seekers including resume writing, job advertisements and applications, local job seeker services providers, time-saving online resources and tools, and more. Sessions will include video, discussion, presentation, and questions and answers promising an engaging and practical learning environment for everyone.18+

A representative from United Personnel wil join this session to explain their free services for local job seekers.

All are Thursday mornings from 11 a.m. to 12 noon, and are held on Zoom.  Sign-up early to save your seat, and speak with a librarian if you need help using Zoom.

Okay, you've learned in school that the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell. But what about the things that you wish you were taught? This online meeting series will cover life skillls that you need to know! Each week, an expert will give a talk on different subjects and answer your questions. We'll have a session on finding a job, a session on managing your money and credit, a session on filling out the FAFSA and other college application musts, and a session on apprenticing for a trade. Ages 13-18. No registration required! Everyone who attends gets a swag bag from our presenters!

Copies of the book will be available at the East Forest Park Branch Library, and most often are available via Hoopla with a Springfield City Library library card too. If Hoopla is new to you, check out this tutorial. The online discussion works best with an internet connected laptop or desktop computer, but you can use your smartphone too, or even call-in with a regular telephone.
