Adult Summer Reading Program

Flyer For Adult Summer Reading ProgramAdults are encouraged to join in the Storrs Library "Universe of Stories" Summer Reading Program. Registered adults can participate all summer long by attending programs and earning Space Bucks for reading books and engaging with library services in a variety of ways! Participants in our program will have a chance to win one weekly raffle prize per week and enter to win a grand prize at the end of the summer.

Children's Summer Reading Program (birth-gr.8)

Flyer For Children's Summer Reading Program

Children birth through eighth grade are encouraged to participate in the Storrs Library "Universe of Stories" Summer Reading Program. Registered children can participate all summer long by attending programs and logging reading hours in the Michael Philip Lauro II Discovery Room. Participants will have a chance to win one weekly raffle prize per week, shop at the Storrs Store and enter to win a grand prize at the end of the summer. 

Please register online. This program will run from June 10-August 16.

Teen Summer Reading Program (gr. 7-12)

Flyer for Teen Summer Reading ProgramTeens entering 7th - 12th grades are encouraged to participate in the Storrs Library "Universe of Stories" Summer Reading Program. Registered teens can participate all summer long by attending programs and submitting Bookstagrams to storrsteens@gmail.com. Participants will have a chance to win one weekly raffle prize, and enter to win a grand prize at the end of the summer.

Under The Stars Outdoor Movie Series: Stars Wars A New Hope (Rated PG)
8:30 PM - 10:30 PM
Flyer for Under The Stars Outdoor Movie Series: Stars Wars
Bring a blanket and lawn chair and enjoy the first outdoor movie of the summer shown on Storrs Library's front lawn. We are proud to present the one, the only original, Star Wars A New Hope, or for you purists just, Star Wars the 1977 blockbuster. Join Luke, Chewie, Han Solo and Princess Leia as they go up against the evil Darth Vader to save the galaxy. We will have free popcorn and a trivia contest 1/2 hour before the movie starts. The movie begins at sunset. (8:30 p.m.) 
If there is inclement weather the movie will be moved indoors, for a start time of 7:30pm.

Storrs Library Book Bike Visits the Longmeadow Farmers Market

The Storrs Library Book Bike will travel to the Longmeadow Farmers Market at The Longmeadow Shops every Thursday from June 20 - August 29. Sign up for the Summer Reading Program, learn about upcoming programs, check out books, dvds, magazines and learn about available resources at Storrs Library.  

The Book Bike program is weather dependent.

Jungle Jim: A Ballooniverse of Stories (all ages)

Flyer ofr Jungle Jim A Ballooniverse of StoriesJungle Jim’s Space-themed balloon magic show features rocket propulsion science, celebrates the moon landing, Star Wars Jedi Training and a 6-foot galaxy explosion! This program is fun for all ages, and registration is required.

Discovery Dollars are earned by reading or listening to stories. Discovery Tickets are earned by attending library programs.
