Free Outdoor Family Concert

Each summer for the past nine years Mark Mandeville & Raianne Richards have organized the “Massachusetts Walking Tour” where they hike the roads and trails of the Commonwealth, more than 100 miles in less than two weeks, in support of the arts in local communities along the way. These annual two-week treks also raise awareness of the trails and greenways in Massachusetts, using music to make important connections.  Each evening they stop over in yet another Massachusetts town, putting on a free concert there, along with local performers and fellow artists who accompany them on their journey. On Wednesday, June 27th, 2018 they will be performing a free concert on the front lawn of Storrs Library.  In the event of rain the concert will be moved indoors.  To Find out more go to http://masswalkingtour.org/

Art of Jennifer Montoya

Jennifer Montoya has an appreciation for nature and wildlife. Through her interest in nature plus her drawing skill, she has created unique and detailed works of art using a technique known as stippling.   She enjoys how minuscule black ink dots come together to show intricate details and texture- whether it's the velvety surface of a butterfly's wing, the delicate patterns of a bird's feathers, or the intricate details of a beetle. Come in to the library to view this one of a kind exhibit in the Betty Ann Low Room anytime the room is not in use. There will be a reception at the Storrs Library with the artist on Tuesday, July 10th at 6:30 PM.
