IN PERSON - indoors or outside (weather permitting): Drumming with your hands and getting into the rhythm with the group can be therapeutic, hypnotic or just plain fun! Bring your own drum or percussion instrument or borrow one of ours (supply of drums is limited).
This workshop is for beginner or experienced djembe drummers. Participants are also welcome to contribute to the group through the addition of sound layering using our percussion instruments (shakers, tamborines, rhythm sticks etc.
This group is presently meeting weekly indoors and as the warm weather arrives we plan to be outdoors through summer. Regular attendance is recommended to build personal skill level and to progress with the group. Please indicate upon registration whether you will bring your own djembe drum or use one of ours.
It is suggested that participants keep a folding lawn chair in their trunk to be prepared for our opportunities to be outdoors whenever possible.
Current max. registration of 15 people for the month of May. There will be no group size restriction as we move to outdoors so please join the waiting list if interested in this program. We will notify you as spaces become available.

It focuses on two families and their two infant children, Andrew and Chrystyna, born in Western Ukraine at the height of the Second World War. Nancy has been practicing yoga for 30 years and teaching for nearly 10. Kids classes and partner workshops are her favourite opportunities to teach yoga! She is passionate about helping children regulate their emotions. She infuses her practice with Brain Gym to help kids cope with stress and become calm, focused, and more energized. Classes will include a warm-up, poses and meditation.

Please be aware that the start time is actually when yoga begins. Be in the room on your mat before 4:45 pm. Coming in late disrupts the program.

The subject of this month's class will be an abandoned farm structure. Jason will discuss the “thick over thin” painting technique and the layering of colour from shadows to highlights. He will discuss and demonstrate soft and hard edges and colour blending.
This class is suitable for beginners to experienced painters. All are welcome to participate with Jason and learn how to render the painting with step-by-step live painting demonstrations or feel free to watch the exciting creative process.
If painting along, you will need to gather the following:

Drag is an opportunity for all ages to reconsider the masks we are all forced to wear daily. Through dress-up, we help children see uniqueness without confusion or awkwardness. The drag queen population is frequently misrepresented, underrepresented or hidden by society. It shows children that anyone can dress in fun ways and be silly, serious or find a character that suits who they are. All are welcome.

About the author: Victoria Butler is a writer from Barrie, ON. She is the Poet Laureate of said hometown from 2018 until 2022 and is the first woman to carry the title. She is the co-founder and editor-in-chief of “The Northern Appeal,” a bi-annual, not-for-profit, literary journal that publishes work by creatives in Simcoe County and Muskoka. She is currently completing her Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing at the University of Toronto.
