Gingerbread Houses
4:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Unfortunately, this event is full. Please check our events calendar for more fun, educational programming.

Everyone is welcome to join us to make a Gingerbread House to celebrate the holiday season!  Materials to build the house will be provided.  Please bring your own candy decorations and something flat and sturdy to build and carry your house home on. 

All ages. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Wallingford residents may call (203)284-6436 or stop by to pre-register beginnig November 16th. Open online registration begins November 30th. Due to space constraints, everyone attending the program, whether building their own house or not, must be registered in order to enter the Community Room.

Etsy Artisan Holiday Bazaar

Shopping for a one-of-a-kind gift for your loved ones this holiday season? Look no further than your local library! An exciting group of artists and new entrepreneurs from the greater Wallingford area have united to bring you the first ever Etsy Artisan Holiday Bazaar. The group originally came together as students in the Wallingford Public Library's Etsy Craft Entrepreneurship Workshop, a series which teaches artists and crafters the skills to run a successful online business. The group has been expanding and evolving ever since.

 

At the Etsy Artisan Holiday Bazaar you will find a wide variety of handmade goods including: jewelry, pottery, wood work, artisan soaps, jams, pet treats, quilts and textile art, baby & children’s gifts, prints of original drawings, paintings & photographs and more. Shop “small” for your holiday gifts and find the perfect present while supporting local artists. Please join us to meet the artists, sample their goods, and purchase unique hand-crafted items.

A Community of Dramatic Play

Presenter: Veronica Casey

Toddlers and preschoolers will love dramatic play and teachers will enjoy the twist of learning that’s involved. Learn strategies for how to include reading and writing in dramatic play.

Integrity: A Critical Challenge for Preschools

Integrity is defined as the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles, or the state of being whole and undivided. In this workshop we will explore ways to create a culture of integrity in your programs. What do you do in your program when no one is watching?

Learn and experience cooking and baking ideas to use with your preschoolers that don't involve using a stove top or oven.  Encourage the little ones to get involved in creating and helping in the kitchen at home.  Pass on your lessons to the parents of your students so they can continue cooking and baking as a family. Presented by Teresia O'Hala
