Knitted Knockers Yarn Drive

"Knitted Knockers are special handmade breast prostheses for women who have had breast cancer and undergone mastectomy or lumpectomy. Traditional breast prosthetics can be hot, heavy and sticky. They typically require special bras or camisoles with pockets and can’t be worn for weeks after surgery. Knitted Knockers are soft, comfortable, beautiful and when placed in a regular bra they take the shape and feel of a real breast. They are adjustable, washable and can even be worn while swimming. Our special volunteer knitters provide these FREE to those requesting them."

In preparation for the Knitted Knockers event on October 28, Knit Happens and WPL are doing a Yarn Drive!

If you wish to donate yarn or bring your own, please check out our community partner, Little Sheep Yarn Boutique. Due to the nature of these knockers, specific yarn must be used. Little Sheep sells three options, linked below.  Purchase yarn from Little Sheep and write "WPL Knitted Knockers" in the notes, and they will get the yarn to us! You can also purchase your yarn and drop it off to any WPL branch.

http://surl.li/lgcyu (Universal Bamboo Pop)

http://surl.li/lgczb (Cascade Ultra Pima)

http://surl.li/lgczq (Cascade Cherub)

Little Sheep also has Cascade Noble and Cascade Pandemonium, both of which are approved yarns
