Mindful meditation is simple and can positively impact our health and sense of wellbeing. The hardest part is making time to practice. Whether you are learning for the first time or have been practicing for years, feel free to join these one-hour guided meditation practices. These mini-retreats begin with a brief explanation of the style of meditation to be practiced in that session. There will be a few minutes for Q & A and then practice will begin.  Bring your own mat or cushion.

Led by Ginny Wholley, an experienced leader and coach who was trained by the University of Massachusetts Medical School’s Center for Mindfulness, founded by Jon Kabat-Zinn. Wholley has decades of personal practice and teaching yoga and meditation.

Meditation Hour
3:00 PM - 4:00 PM

REV Up! Register, Educate, Vote.
2:00 PM - 4:00 PM

The Deaf and Hard of Hearing community and people with disabilities are under-represented at the polls. REV Up aims to increase the number of people who are Deaf/Hard of hearing and those with disabilities who vote. We are non-partisan, and invite voters of any party to join our efforts. 2018, even without a presidential election, is an extremely important year!  Many if not all supports, services and civil rights have been under attack.  While we have been largely protected in MA, voting has never been more important.  Multiple studies have shown that people with disabilities are under-represented, and could make a difference in many contests if they showed up at the polls. Come learn more about using your power to vote to make change!

Zumba
10:00 AM - 11:00 AM

Zumba classes are for ages 12 and older. Wearing work-out clothes and sneakers is recommended, and remember to bring water! Zumba is an hour-long, high energy, calorie-burning fitness class that uses pop and Latin music to create a dance-party atmosphere. Low-intensity and high-intensity moves are easy to follow for all level participants who can set their own pace. It is an effective and fun cardio workout that melts fat, strengthens core, and improves flexibility.

Alina Khaspekov is a certified Zumba instructor with over 3 years experience teaching Zumba and Zumba Tone classes. She loves music, dancing, and seeing smiling faces after each class!

Program generously sponsored by the Friends of the Worcester Public Library.
