Zumba

Zumba classes are for ages 12 and older. Wearing work-out clothes and sneakers is recommended. And remember to bring water!
Zumba is an hour-long, high energy, calorie-burning fitness class that uses pop and Latin music to create a dance-party atmosphere. Low-intensity and high-intensity moves are easy to follow for all level participants who can set their own pace. Athletic Yoga

This class features DDPYoga, a version of yoga which combines traditional yoga positions with calisthenics, sports rehab therapy and dynamic resistance. The result is a low impact, high cardio, total body workout with plenty of modifications to make it easier or more challenging. This class will meet students at their particular fitness and ability level. Bring your own mat and water. For ages 12 and older. Be ready to get sweaty!

 Instructor Heather Berkowitz has been practicing and teaching DDPYoga since 2012. Her goal is to help every student find the mental and physical strength to “namaslay” everything!

A hands-on class designed to introduce composition techniques and demystify some camera functions. The class will be taught outside while walking around downtown Worcester taking photos. We will cover aperture, shutter speed, exposure settings, composition, and file types. Learn how to eliminate distractions, use line and texture and the Rule of Thirds to create more dynamic images. This class is open to digital camera and smartphone photographers of all experience levels.

Afternoon Meditation

Mindful meditation is simple and can positively impact our health and sense of wellbeing. The hardest part is making time to practice. Whether you are learning for the first time or have been practicing for years, feel free to join these one-hour guided meditation practices. These mini-retreats begin with a brief explanation of the style of meditation to be practiced in that session. There will be a few minutes for Q & A and then practice will begin.  Bring your own mat or cushion. 

Led by Ginny Wholley, an experienced leader and coach who was trained by the University of Massachusetts Medical School’s Center for Mindfulness, founded by Jon Kabat-Zinn. Wholley has decades of personal practice and teaching yoga and meditation.

This class features DDPYoga, a version of yoga which combines traditional yoga positions with calisthenics, sports rehab therapy and dynamic resistance. The result is a low impact, high cardio, total body workout with plenty of modifications to make it easier or more challenging. Historic New England: A Tour of the Region’s Top 100 National Landmarks

Learn about some of the most interesting historic destinations in all of New England. This region contains one of the highest concentrations of National Historic Landmarks in the country, and although many of these landmarks are historic houses, other New England landmarks are surprisingly quirky, including carousels, submarines, a weather observatory, and a bird sanctuary.

Authors Patricia Harris and David Lyon have traveled and written together for decades and are the authors of more than thirty books about travel, food, and art. Mindful meditation is simple and can positively impact our health and sense of wellbeing. The hardest part is making time to practice. Whether you are learning for the first time or have been practicing for years, feel free to join these one-hour guided meditation practices. These mini-retreats begin with a brief explanation of the style of meditation to be practiced in that session. There will be a few minutes for Q & A and then practice will begin.  Bring your own mat or cushion. 

Led by Ginny Wholley, an experienced leader and coach who was trained by the University of Massachusetts Medical School’s Center for Mindfulness, founded by Jon Kabat-Zinn. Wholley has decades of personal practice and teaching yoga and meditation.

This class features DDPYoga, a version of yoga which combines traditional yoga positions with calisthenics, sports rehab therapy and dynamic resistance. The result is a low impact, high cardio, total body workout with plenty of modifications to make it easier or more challenging. We will discuss the health effects of eating too many of the wrong carbohydrates.  Learn which carbs are very good for health, and how to cut back on the ones that we should all limit. 

November 9: Healthy Holiday Eating

The goal for this class is to learn holiday eating strategies to get from Halloween to New Year's Eve, and enjoy every holiday in-between, feeling great and eating well.  

Presented by Judy Palken, MNS, RD, LDN.  Judy is a registered dietitian who provides the information and guidance to help you make effective and healthful dietary changes.

A hands-on class designed to introduce composition techniques and demystify some camera functions. The class will be taught outside while walking around downtown Worcester taking photos. We will cover aperture, shutter speed, exposure settings, composition, and file types. Learn how to eliminate distractions, use line and texture and the Rule of Thirds to create more dynamic images. This class is open to digital camera and smartphone photographers of all experience levels.

Irish Roots: Two Eileens Talk About Their Novels

Local authors Eileen O’Finlan and Eileen Charbonneau discuss the genesis of their novels, both set in Ireland during the time of the Great Famine. O’Finlan’s debut novel is entitled Kelegeen, and her soon-to-be published follow-up is set in Worcester. Eileen Charbonneau, author of several books, will talk about Rachel LaMoyne, her novel also set in Ireland during the mid-1800’s.

Afternoon Meditation

Mindful meditation is simple and can positively impact our health and sense of wellbeing. The hardest part is making time to practice. Whether you are learning for the first time or have been practicing for years, feel free to join these one-hour guided meditation practices. These mini-retreats begin with a brief explanation of the style of meditation to be practiced in that session. There will be a few minutes for Q & A and then practice will begin.  Bring your own mat or cushion. 

Led by Ginny Wholley, an experienced leader and coach who was trained by the University of Massachusetts Medical School’s Center for Mindfulness, founded by Jon Kabat-Zinn. Wholley has decades of personal practice and teaching yoga and meditation.

Zumba

Zumba classes are for ages 12 and older. Wearing work-out clothes and sneakers is recommended. And remember to bring water!
Zumba is an hour-long, high energy, calorie-burning fitness class that uses pop and Latin music to create a dance-party atmosphere. Low-intensity and high-intensity moves are easy to follow for all level participants who can set their own pace. This class features DDPYoga, a version of yoga which combines traditional yoga positions with calisthenics, sports rehab therapy and dynamic resistance. The result is a low impact, high cardio, total body workout with plenty of modifications to make it easier or more challenging. Afternoon Meditation

Mindful meditation is simple and can positively impact our health and sense of wellbeing. The hardest part is making time to practice. Whether you are learning for the first time or have been practicing for years, feel free to join these one-hour guided meditation practices. These mini-retreats begin with a brief explanation of the style of meditation to be practiced in that session. There will be a few minutes for Q & A and then practice will begin.  Bring your own mat or cushion. 

Led by Ginny Wholley, an experienced leader and coach who was trained by the University of Massachusetts Medical School’s Center for Mindfulness, founded by Jon Kabat-Zinn. Wholley has decades of personal practice and teaching yoga and meditation.

Whether you are learning for the first time or have been practicing for years, feel free to join these one-hour guided meditation practices. These mini-retreats begin with a brief explanation of the style of meditation to be practiced in that session. There will be a few minutes for Q & A and then practice will begin.  Bring your own mat or cushion. 

Led by Ginny Wholley, an experienced leader and coach who was trained by the University of Massachusetts Medical School’s Center for Mindfulness, founded by Jon Kabat-Zinn. Wholley has decades of personal practice and teaching yoga and meditation.

Zumba

Zumba classes are for ages 12 and older. Wearing work-out clothes and sneakers is recommended. And remember to bring water!
Zumba is an hour-long, high energy, calorie-burning fitness class that uses pop and Latin music to create a dance-party atmosphere. Low-intensity and high-intensity moves are easy to follow for all level participants who can set their own pace. Athletic Yoga

This class features DDPYoga, a version of yoga which combines traditional yoga positions with calisthenics, sports rehab therapy and dynamic resistance. The result is a low impact, high cardio, total body workout with plenty of modifications to make it easier or more challenging. This class will meet students at their particular fitness and ability level. Bring your own mat and water. For ages 12 and older. Be ready to get sweaty!

 Instructor Heather Berkowitz has been practicing and teaching DDPYoga since 2012. Her goal is to help every student find the mental and physical strength to “namaslay” everything!
