A Victorian Christmas

The York High School Drama Department, under the direction of George Hosker-Bouley, will present A Victorian Christmas at the York Public Library. Guests will be greeted by costumed actors as they welcome you into their home and regale you with tales of their family history. Once everyone has arrived the family of actors will present a staged reading of Dylan Thomas’ “A Child’s Christmas in Wales” and a few other short selections. A Victorian Christmas is a perfect slice of the holiday in just one hour! After the performance guests are invited to chat with the actors and stay for an exquisite selection of treats and goodies set up in Victorian splendor.

Book Discussion

Kim Kelsey will lead a discussion of Colson Whitehead's book "Underground Railroad", an old story told in a new way. Kim Kelsey is an Eliot resident, recently retired from UNH social work faculty; a licensed clinical social worker and therapist with deep experience assessing and treating children, adolescents and adults, especially those with histories of trauma.
