SPECIAL NEEDS TRUST PLANNING
6:30 PM

Presented by David Frick, CPA, MBA

Often the term “Special Needs Trust” is mentioned to individuals or caretakers of persons with disabilities, which does nothing but bring up questions such as:

• Who actually needs a Special Needs Trust?

• What is its purpose?

• How do they work?

• Are they expensive?

• When should one be put into place?

• How is one setup?

During this seminar we will seek to provide some general answers to these questions and others. We will also talk about next steps to resolve your questions surrounding Special Needs Trusts. If you are an individual or caretaker of a person with disabilities and do not have a Special Needs Trust or forgot why you have one, this discussion is for you! Further, PA ABLE will be discussed.

STORIES UNTOLD: ORAL HISTORIES OF THE WIVES OF VIETNAM SERVICEMEN
12:00 PM

Presented by Charlotte McDaniel

As a member of a Gold Star family, Charlotte McDaniel has long understood the challenges of a loved one who, sadly, did not return from the Vietnam War. As a retired professor from Emory University, Atlanta, GA, with former appointments at Yale University, Univ, of Pittsburgh Medical Center, plus several Fulbright appointments, this War experience sparked interest in these oral histories. Representing interviews with more than thirty (30) wives across all branches of the military, it presents a robust sample of wives from that era and is her first non-fiction work for a more general public audience. McDaniel will discuss her newly published book at this event, and at the conclusion will entertain comments and questions from the audience. Stories Untold was recently selected for presentation at the nationally-acclaimed Festival of the Book, held in Charlottesville, VA., annually in March, and is a five-star rated Amazon read. It should be noted that Stories Untold continues to be the only book about military-related women from the Vietnam War era.

HAUNTED ROADS OF WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA
6:30 PM

Presented by author Thomas White

There are ghostly travelers who forever wander the lonely roads of Western Pennsylvania. A creeping fog rises from Blue Mist Road, and stories of car crashes, lynchings and even strange beasts haunt this isolated stretch outside Pittsburgh. Is it the angry spirit of a jealous husband or a gypsy king who stalks Erie County’s Axe Murder Hollow? Shades of Death Road in Washington County may be host to phantom coal miners killed during a deadly labor dispute. Travel the backcountry roads and byways of Western Pennsylvania with author Thomas White to discover their ghost tales and mysterious legends.
