Crafternoons for Adults at the Library

What is it? An afternoon solely devoted to the joys of craft. Join us the third Wednesday of each month for Crafternoons. Bring your best craft ideas with you. This is an informal gathering and a chance to meet new people and learn new craft ideas. Adults ages 18 and over are welcome. Registration is appreciated for this program because it helps us prepare adequate materials. 

This month's theme is Wood Circle Designs.

In 2019, a $3 donation is appreciated for Crafternoons.

Genealogy Book Discussion

The Castle Shannon Library and the National Network of Libraries of Medicine (NNLM) are partnering to bring you a special book discussion featuring It's All Relative: Adventures Up and Down the World's Family Tree by A.J. Jacobs. This book explores what family, biology, and genetics mean in a fun and fascinating way. The library will provide light refreshments and the first 8 people to sign up will receive a free tote bag the day of the discussion. We will also be raffling off copies of the book at the meeting. Stop in the library to pick up your copy of the book to read.

Join us for a fun-filled evening of Bingo, food, raffles, and more! We ask that each family bring a King-size candy bar to help us with the winning prizes for the Bingo games. Doors will open at 6:00 PM so you can get a seat, some food, and be ready for the first game to start at 6:45 PM. Admission and all Bingo games will be free; all money raised during the sale of food and raffles will go the Library.

Join Sourie Iskbah for belly dancing classes at the Library. All ages are welcome to attend! The classes will cost $15 in advance/$20 at the door. Identity Theft, Scams and Theft Protection

Mr. George Dillman from the PA Department of Banking and Securities will be presenting this informative program at the library. This hour-long program takes a look at ways people's identities are stolen or compromised, what you can do if you find you have had your identity stolen, and how to stop theft from occurring. He will reivew common scams and frauds, and discuss what you should do if presented with a finacial offer that seems "too good to be true."

Join  us for this exciting learning opportunity at the library. This class is ideal for beginners between the ages of 13 and 99. We will cover basic vocabulary inlcuding the alphabet, colors, animals, and more! The instructor, Ms. Heather, has over a decade of experience with sign language including teaching children who are deaf/hard of hearing. The class will take place on the third Monday of each month. A $5 fee is required for the entirety of the course to help offset the cost of the materials.

Sign Language Class

Join  us for this exciting learning opportunity at the library. This class is ideal for beginners between the ages of 13 and 99. We will cover basic vocabulary inlcuding the alphabet, colors, animals, and more! The instructor, Ms. Heather, has over a decade of experience with sign language including teaching children who are deaf/hard of hearing. The class will take place on the third Monday of each month. A $5 fee is required for the entirety of the course to help offset the cost of the materials.
