A Perfect Pairing: Coffee & Fine Chocolate

Join Kim Larkin of "Klassic Kreations, LLC" for a fun, educational 1 hour workshop. Participants will hear about the health benefits of both dark chocolate and coffee, and where they come from. Each person will receive a coffee-chocolate tasting wheel to help throughout the tasting. We'll discuss coffee's timeline, how coffee is "taken" around the globe, the very first Baristas, and much more. The class will wrap up with a fun, interactive quiz!

Join Food Explorers as we try our hand at homemade Fettuccine with Mushroom Ragu! You’ll need the following ingredients for four servings: 4 eggs, 2 cups flour, olive oil, salt, 1 onion, 2 garlic cloves, 1 pound mixed mushrooms (cremini, oyster, shiitake), marsala wine or white wine, 2 cups broth, heavy cream, parsley and parmesan cheese. You will need a rolling pin or pasta machine to roll out your pasta.

Buildwave: Interactive Building

Want to foster your child's interest in STEM, while igniting their creative spark at the same time? Buildwave is a creative building program that feels like a video game!

Over the course of the workshop students create with over a dozen different building materials, including Lego®, PlusPlus®, and custom-made Buildwave materials. The workshop is structured like a video game, with an audiovisual setup featuring animations and music that guide students through the different building waves. As your child creates with wave after wave of new objects, they build creative confidence, become better collaborators, and encounter design and engineering fundamentals in a unique and memorable context.

Farm Friends Petting Zoo

Beth from Xen’s Critters visits with friendly farm friends! Pop by to spend time with baby goats, bunnies, chickens, ducks, geese, and guinea pigs! 

This is a mobile petting zoo that you can walk through at your own pace. If the weather is nice, we will set up on the library lawn, otherwise the event will be held in our community room.

So many creatures call fallen logs home! Find out what is underneath with the Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center!

Fallen logs may seem unassuming, but they are full of life. Slugs, salamanders, spiders, frogs, snakes, and more critters make their homes under rocks and logs. We’ll meet some animals from the nature center and learn all about why logs are so important!

This program is designed specifically with young adventurers in mind, by introducing the basics of Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) in a simplified, engaging, and age-appropriate format. Our aim is to foster creativity, teamwork, critical thinking, and basic math skills, all within the captivating realms of fantasy. Designed for ages 8-12. Registration is required.
