This is a meeting of the Ayurveda & Holistic Wellness Meetup. It's free + open to the public.

Join us on a journey into the world of traditional Indian medicine, or Ayurveda, "the science of life." This group is devoted to studying the ancient and sustainable practices of living. We'll explore topics in natural lifestyles such as daily routines, seasonal living, detoxification, working with herbs, sleep, exercise, diet and nutrition.

During this evening's event, we'll continue our discussion of individual Ayurvedic constitution and discuss the personalized approach to diet and nutrition with traditional Indian medicine's timeless wisdom.

If you are new, please contact Jamila for helpful resources to help you prepare for this discussion.

Change: A Look At Alternative Living
5:30 PM - 8:00 PM

A young family sold everything they owned. Fixed up a sailboat and left on a quest for something different.

After a year, they came back home to Cape Cod to reflect on the journey and prepare for bigger adventures ahead.

This is about how and why they did it, what they truly learned about life along the way and to show that change can be made, even if it feels impossible.

We consider figures and photos from the History of Photography as well as the older practices that lead to the images we make today. Digital equipment and software figure large in our discussion. A monthly assignment gives the group a common point of departure for our study.

Magic with Scott Jameson
6:30 PM - 7:30 PM

Magician Scott Jameson has thrilled our audiences for a few years, and this summer he will perform his show with an ‘Out of This World’ twist.  Audience volunteers will spin planets on their fingers.  Gravity will be turned upside-down.  The audience will travel through a wormhole. Scott continually amazes and wows the crowd with his well-honed craft of magic. There are lots of "how did he do that?" kind of moments during each performance. Free and sponsored by both the Friends of the Eastham Library and the Eastham Cultural Council.

Meet the Author: Daniel Reinharth, MD
12:30 PM - 2:30 PM

Terminal Therapy is the third mystery in the Dr. David Calder series.  The story unfolds on Cape Cod, featuring sites such as Eastham's own Anchorage on the Cove - and lots of ice cream and lobster roll.

David Calder practices internal medicine - by day.  In his spare time he untangles complicated murder mysteries, and muddles through a complicated relationship with the almost-psychologist love of his life.  He has an unfortunate penchant for startling strangers with unsolicited Sherlock Holmes-like medical diagnoses.

Daniel Reinharth practices internal medicine, and his wife Bernice practices clinical psychology.  They live on Long Island, but when they cross the Bourne Bridge, which they do as often as possible, they can feel their blood pressures normalize.  Dan also invites you to read his weekly medical blog, awordfromyourdoctor.com.

EASTHAM 400 EXHIBIT - OUR STORY: 400 YEARS OF WAMPANOAG HISTORY
8:00 AM - 8:00 PM

OUR STORY: 400 YEARS OF WAMPANOAG HISTORY - in the Greg Turner Meeting Rooms through the month of December

THIS INTERACTIVE EXHIBIT SHINES A LIGHT ON PIECES OF HISTORY THAT HAD A SIGNIFICANT IMPACT ON THE WAMPANOAG TRIBE, THEIR RELATIONSHIP WITH THE MAYFLOWER PILGRIMS, AND THE FOUNDING OF PLYMOUTH COLONY; CORNERSTONE EVENTS THAT SHAPED AMERICA’S EARLIEST BEGINNINGS.

"Our"Story: 400 Years of Wampanoag History will be expanded each year leading up to 2020 with additional pieces of Wampanoag history, and will travel throughout the region. The latest chapter is 5th in a series of what will become 7 chapters and is called "Governance". The unique style of governance practiced by the Wampanoag and other Algonquin nations was so appealing to the founding fathers of the United States that many elements are reflected in the constitution.
