Girls in 5th - 8th grade:  use your imagination and STEM knowledge to make the world a better place or solve an everyday problem with an original design or concept.  Creations can be related to energy and environment, health and nutrition, or biomedical.  Include a hypothesis and a visual aid of your concept – a video, tri-fold display, poster, model or anything that best conveys the innovation.  Participants may work individually or in groups of 4 or less. What will you create?  Think BIG. Think small.  Think about how you can make the world a better place. Competition begins December 4, 2017. Submission deadline February 3, 2018.

DECTech Students, Colorado School of Mines outreach program designed for girls, will serve as judges for the competition on February 4, 2018.  Winners will be honored at the International Women’s Day Luncheon on March 8, 2018. All contestants will receive a certificate of participation.

Computer ClassPrerequisites: Mastery of basic computer skills and Windows functions; moderate keyboarding skills.

Learn and practice the fundamentals of creating text documents: entering, editing and formatting text, moving text, and opening and saving document files. 

Computer classes are free but require registration.  Please visit your local library or call (303) 235-5275 to register for classes.  Classes with fewer than four people registered 24 hours prior to class time may be cancelled.
