Cathy Forbes from the State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) will assist attendees in learning about the basics of Medicare parts A, B, C and D, and help them make informed decisions about their Medicare options.  Ideal for people considering retirement, turning 65, or just starting Medicare.  Questions such as “Do I need to enroll now?”, “Will I be able to enroll later?” and “Will late penalties apply to me?” will be addressed.  Preregistration preferred, walk-ins welcome.

Stop the Bleed

The Stop the Bleed initiative was created after the Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings by the American College of Surgeons, and others.  This 1-hour class will teach you how to recognize life-threatening bleeding and intervene effectively.  No matter how fast the arrival of a first responder, whether to an accident scene, a mass shooting, or other act of violence, bystanders will always be first on the scene.  A person who is bleeding can die from blood loss within five minutes, so it’s important to know how to quickly STOP THE BLEED.  Registration is required.  Class size is limited.
