Drop in any time between 3-5pm, and make a mystery craft!  Each week we’ll pull together a fun project from our closet of craft supplies … but it'll be a surprise until you arrive!  Materials may include: craft sticks, paper, paint, dot markers, pom-poms, stickers, tempura sticks, pipe cleaners, beads, googly eyes, glitter glue, and more.

Calling all dreamers, readers, & writers - let's delve into the world of writing and explore the land of language arts!

Learners' Ledge is a Language Arts workshop focused on helping Elementary and Middle School students adjust to higher writing and reading levels based on the New Jersey language arts standards.
 
Taught by a West Windsor-Plainsboro High School teen volunteer.
 
Online registration suggested, but not required.
 
A parent/guardian must remain in the library while child attends the program.

Junior Chess (Ages 7-11)

The class will be separated into complete beginners and players who know how to play the game. For the first half of the class, the players will learn depending on what group they are separated into. For the second half of class, participants will work as pairs in their own group. At the end of class, students will be given one puzzle according to their groups to solve at home.

Registration required. Once registered, you will be signed up for all classes (2/6, 2/13, 2/20, 2/27). 

Students must bring their own chess board.

The goal of the Science Enrichment Program is to help middle and upper elementary school students understand concepts in chemistry, physics, earth science and biology.
Volunteers will also assist student sin preparing for science competitions including the Science Bowl and Science Olympiad.
General questions will be addressed and topics of interest will be discussed where they require more clarity.

Geometry is fun with toothpicks and marshmallows! There will be both beginner shapes in 2 dimensions and more advanced 3-dimensional challenges! Build a star, a hexagon, a rhombus! Not challenged enough? Let's Sew! A Felt Coin Pouch (Ages 5-11)

In this Sewing 101 program learn how to use basic sewing tools and techniques to design and sew your own original felt coin pouch. First choose your felt color and design the size and shape of your coin pouch. Then sew using the beginner's running stitch ~ or one of the stitches we've learned ~ the whip stitch or the blanket stitch. Sew a decorative button closure and Voila! You've designed your very own coin (or phone or library card) carrying pouch! Easy tools such as large eye needles, needle threaders, round head pins and colorful craft thread make the work easy!  An easy sewing project for boys and girls.

For children 4-11 yrs, youngest with a caregiver.
Pi (π), the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter, is a number that will continue infinitely without repetition or pattern.  It is approximately 3.14159, and it has its own holiday: Pi Day on March 14th, 3.14 if you write it out!
Tonight we’ll be making patterned bracelets inspired by Pi (π)!  The number of beads we use will be determined by the numbers in π.  You’ll be surprised at how pretty they turn out!
Online registration is required.  Registration opens the morning of the program at 7:00am.
