    50 Years, 50 Works, 50 Reasons

The Ben May Main Library will be hosting the Maurice Sendak Memorial Exhibition, a retrospective of original works sure to delight both children and adults alike. The author and illustrator of more than 50 children’s books, Sendak is best known for the 1963 children’s classic, Where the Wild Things Are.

This classic tale has sold over 19 million copies and translated into many, different languages. It is frequently voted the number one picture book by several publications, including School Library Journal, and was also awarded the 1964 Caldecott Medal Award.
