Author Talk: John Havens and Heartificial Intelligence
7:00 PM - 8:30 PM

Heartificial Intelligence by John C. HavensJohn C. Havens will join us via Skype to present ideas from his book Heartificial Intelligence and lead a discussion into the ways that humans and artificial intelligence can develop and live together in the future. Coexisting safely and ethically with intelligent machines is the central challenge of the twenty-first century.

In this enjoyable book, Havens calls for resistance to the forces that erode our humanity in the age of the algorithm. Through detailed research, interviews, and engaging futuristic scenarios, he shows how establishing ethical standards for artificial intelligence will help us preserve the values we cherish most.

Copies of Heartificial Intelligence will be available at the library and throughout town. We hope you will join us in reading this thought-provoking book and discussing how we can shape a future that aligns with our community values.
