Outdoor Pop-Up Children’s Library
9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Browse our pop-up library! Drop by anytime between 9 and noon with your library card, wear your masks and be prepared to be socially distant with other families. The children's librarians will bring out a huge selection of children's materials for ages 0-12 that each family can browse in front of the library outside, one family at a time. Gloves and hand sanitizer will be provided, and signage will be posted to help social distancing. Once you've chosen all your materials, kids and/or grownups will scan their library cards and books to check out. When you're finished browsing, walk around the library building to read our new story walk! Event will be postponed in case of rain and severe weather.

Teen Take and Make Leftovers Edition
9:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Stop by the library and grab a Take and Make bag!! All of the extra Take and Make bags from past Take and Make events are up for grabs!  Grab one of each craft or several of your favorite. Supplies and instructions for each craft are included in each bag. You may need some additional supplies such as scissors, a stapler, glue, a writing utensil and a glue gun. These crafts are designed for Teens in grades 6-12. Bags will be in a bin under the curbside pickup table labeled 'Teen Take and Make.'

Garden Storytime

Take and Make Terrarium Necklace

Stop by the library to pick up the materials you need to make your own terrarium necklace! You will plant chia seeds in it and watch them grow in a necklace or keychain you can wear or hang somewhere special. You can even refill your soil and seeds after your first cycle.

Materials are limited and kits are available on a first come, first served basis. They will be outside the side door to the Children's Room starting at noon 4/23 and during business hours while supplies last.

Please note: this kit does contain small pieces that could pose a choking hazard and a glass jar.

T.A.G. (Teen Advisory Group) Virtual Meeting

Interactive Puppet Show!

Northborough Job Seekers: Make Yourself Stand Out!

Competition for jobs is tough. When you apply for a job, how do you measure up against the other candidates? Meet with career coach Brian DeVasto and find out how you can make the final round and get job offers!

Brian DeVasto has worked in the corporate environment for over twenty years and teaches a job seekers bootcamp at Assabet at Night. In his career, DeVasto has been both the interviewee and the interviewer many times.  From these experiences, he has developed a SmrtSeekr methodology that you can use to differentiate yourself from other candidates. 

This program will be held on Zoom. While the event is free, advance registration is required.  The Zoom link will be sent to all registrants prior to the program.

Mother Goose Flies the Coop!

Join us outside of the library for a special edition of Mother Goose on the Loose, an early literacy program for children ages birth through 2 years. Join us for a story, songs, rhymes, bouncing, and fingerplays! We will use musical instruments, puppets, and other props to further children's early learning skills.

In order for us to keep distance between families, space is very limited at this program. If you no longer can make it, please let us know as  soon as possible so we can admit another interested party.

“Young Scientists” with STEM Beginnings

Join STEM Beginnings for a 6-week virtual series. Children will learn STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) concepts through hands-on activities, story time and simple experiments. This is an interactive class using Zoom and parents/caregivers are encouraged to help their child. Weekly registration is required. Class size is limited to 12 children, ages 3-6, and siblings are welcome. A list of materials for families to prepare for each class will be provided weekly.

Toddler Time: Spring Session

Log on to Zoom for age- and developmentally-appropriate stories, songs, movement activities and fingerplay as we build your child's early literacy skills. For children ages 2 and 3 years old with a favorite adult!

Preschool Explorers: Spring Session
10:00 AM - 10:30 AM

Join Ms. Carly for a special Zoom story time designed for preschoolers to explore a STEAM related concept through stories, songs, and an activity or demonstration. This program is best suited for children ages 4-5, although siblings and grown ups are welcome to join the fun if they'd like. 

Register below and we will send you a reminder email each week with the Zoom meeting link. For safety and privacy purposes, participants are asked to share their screens initially.

Crafternoon Kits

Drop by the library every Tuesday afternoon to pick up the materials for a fun new art project!  Virtual Crafternoon videos will be posted on the library's YouTube channel and Facebook page each Tuesday for you to watch and craft along to!

Crafternoon kits available for pick up from 12-3 on Tuesdays or while supplies last.

PJ Storytime on ZOOM

Get dressed in your pajama best and join Ms. Lindsay for a bedtime themed storytime. Bring your favorite stuffed animal and enjoy cozy stories to end the night right.

This program is intended for families with children ages 2 to 6.

We will be hosting this special story time on Zoom! Register here, and a link to the Zoom meeting will be sent to your email with additional information.

Mother Goose: Spring Session

Mother Goose on the LooseLog on to Zoom for a special storytime for our littlest patrons! Mother Goose on the Loose is an early literacy program for children ages birth through 3 years. Come join us for a story, songs, rhymes, bouncing, and fingerplays! We will use musical instruments, puppets, and other props to further children's early learning skills.

Music Mashup: Spring Session

“Young Scientists” with STEM Beginnings
11:30 AM - 12:30 PM

Join STEM Beginnings for a 6-week virtual series. Children will learn STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) concepts through hands-on activities, story time and simple experiments. This is an interactive class using Zoom and parents/caregivers are encouraged to help their child. Weekly registration is required. Class size is limited to 12 children, ages 3-6, and siblings are welcome. A list of materials for families to prepare for each class will be provided weekly.

The “Young Scientists” series is sponsored by the YMCA Family & Community Partnership (YFCP), which is a Massachusetts Coordinated Family & Community Engagement (CFCE) Grant funded by the Department of Early Education and Care and awarded to the YMCA of Central Massachusetts.
