Come and join us!  Newcomers are welcome to come early (6 pm) for an introduction to what Citizens' Climate Lobby is and what we do.

Citizens’ Climate Lobby is a non-profit, non-partisan, grassroots advocacy organization focused on national policies to address climate change. Our consistently respectful, non-partisan approach to climate education is designed to create a broad, sustainable foundation for climate action across all geographic regions and political inclinations. By building upon shared values rather than partisan divides, and empowering our supporters to work in keeping with the concerns of their local communities, we work towards the adoption of fair, effective, and sustainable climate change solutions. In order to generate the political will necessary for passage of our Crbon Fee and Dividend proposal we train and support volunteers to build relationships with elected officials, the media and their local community.

Trains in the Valley
6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

This is not a library-sponsored event.

"The Hartford Line"

Starting in May the Connecticut Department of Transportation will launch enhanced rail service between New Haven and Springfield.  The enhanced service will increase the frequency of trains from the current 6 round trips per day to 17 round trips per day between New Haven and Hartford and 12 round trips per day between Hartford and Springfield.  Fast convenient service will provide residents along the corridor with increased access to jobs, will provide employers with a more mobile workforce, and will promote Transit Oriented Developments that will attract a population that is seeking livable and walkable communities close to transit.

This program will feature  John E. Bernick, P.E, Assistant Rail Administrator for Rail Design, Construction and Maintenance of Way at the Connecticut Department of Transportation and information on rail initiatives in the region.

Trains in the Valley is an organization that wants rail passengers and rail activists to have easy access to public information on the past, present and potential future of rail service in our area. Our hope is that TrainsInTheValley.org increases overall transparency on local and regional rail issues.
