Spring Cleaning! Less Is More: Clearing Your Mind By Clearing Your Space
6:30 PM - 7:30 PM

Get a jump start on your Spring Cleaning! In this presentation Stephanie Baird, LMHC, will discuss her 8 month long process of using the KonMari method of decluttering, as outlined in the bestselling book, Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up, by Marie Kondo, to clear her home of items that no longer "spark joy."

Not only did she remove around 60 trash bags of items, but she was able to sell a vast amount of these items on eBay, Facebook, Craigslist, and to local clothing, book, cd, and comic stores, making over $2500. What she did not sell she had picked up for donation or  trash/recycling. Since doing this process, she has marveled at how much her consumption has decreased as a result of becoming much more discriminating. Every object remaining has a purpose and place, and is pleasing to own.

During this presentation she will outline the KonMari steps, discuss and provide resources on how to responsibly dispose of your items, and discuss the benefits of clearing your space to clear your mind.

Don't Retire, Rewire!
5:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Attention Boomers!

Are you wondering how you will fill the 2080 hours per year you’ve spent at your full-time job when you retire? Boomers aren’t retiring, they are “rewiring” by pursuing satisfying self-employment, part-time jobs, volunteering, or taking college classes.

In this interactive workshop you’ll complete a series of exercises, do some self-assessments, and reflect and brainstorm with others to create an action plan to help you transition into a satisfying new chapter of your life.  You’ll also leave with a variety of valuable resources.

People who are contemplating retirement or have already retired will benefit from these workshops.

This is a program for adults and seniors

Liking My Looks, 'Normal' Must Be So Boring!
6:30 PM - 7:30 PM

Adventures in Liking My Looks is a funny, spirited, sometimes poignant one woman play that explores how all bodies—even “non-normal” ones--are beautiful. Written and performed by Susan Cummings, the actress/playwright travels from New York City and London to art therapy, dance lessons and more in an adventure of finding self-acceptance and love. “I hope the show nudges and inspires the audience to realize that each of their bodies is uniquely beautiful, (and) that all of our bodies are part of the beautiful human palette.” “This program is supported in part by a grant from the Springfield Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.” 18+
