All patrons between 11-18 years old are invited to join us for an afternoon of art and imagination! Design your own alien life form, and show how it would thrive in its environment. Place it on a known planet, or create a new planet yet to be discovered! Its all up to you. We'll have snacks for all who create, and a small prize for the alien chosen as "Best in Universe"

Tai Chi is a slow motion, low impact form of exercise suitable for people of any age. It is often referred to as “moving meditation” and has been practiced in the Far East for thousands of years. Enjoy its graceful flow, and experience the benefits it can bring to balance, coordination, focus, and calm. Class will be instructed by Certified Tai Chi Instructor Dr. Emanuel Brown.

Honey Bee Talk

Backyard Beekeeper George Flathers comes to the East Springfield Library to talk about the importance of the honey bee in relation to our food, their life cycles and the order of their hives. George will also show parts of the bee hive and bee keeper tools, including a bee suit. There will be a Q & A session following the presentation along with a Honey Tasting.

Chair Yoga

Meets on the second Tuesday of every month | Ages 18 and up

Chair yoga is a unique form or exercise as it adapts yoga positions while incorporating the use of a chair. The chair replaces the yoga mat and becomes an extension of the body while being used to help with both balance and support. The student is able to warm-up the body safely, and perform yoga poses with support and stability. Chair yoga is suitable for all fitness levels and physical conditions. Led by Nicole Ferraro, a certified yoga instructor.

Come to East Springfield and have a chance to look through our telescopes at some of the summers most amazing heavenly bodies. Learn how you can star gaze with binoculars. See some of the apps on phones and tablets that can help you find out what you're looking at. Light refreshments will be provided.  Because this is an after hours program, a parent or guardian must accompany minors. Siblings under the age of 11 are welcome also with parent supervision.

Teen Escape Room: The Great Nobel Caper

Do you have what it takes to crack a mystery and right a scientific wrong? Then  this escape room is for you! Teens between the ages of 12-18 are invited to work together to search for clues, and solve the puzzles that will open a very special box.

Tutorial runs from 3:30-3:45, when the game will begin. You'll have one hour to succeed. Are you up for the challenge?
