"Book in a Bag '' is a teen subscription book program. Each month teens can sign up for the program where they will know the theme of the month chosen for the books, which will be checked out for 1 month, and placed in their choice of a tote or drawstring backpack, theirs to keep, with a bag of popcorn, and one of these to pick from: a motivational poster, Zentangle art, a Gaming poster, or a velvet bag of dice. This month’s theme is Fantasy. Registration is required.

This program runs for 6 weeks from July 7 - August 18 for families who would like to learn beginner ASL. Each class builds upon the prior one. At the end of 6 weeks, children, teens, and caregivers will be able to sign the alphabet, greet others, learn food related signs, express emotions and feelings, learn numbers and tell time. Encouraging kids’ confidence and knowledge in the kitchen. Mixing math, stirring in science, and cooking up culture! Foster their independence while satisfying their hunger with meals they can create on their own. Please join Chef Julie Manning at Simply Focused Coaching to learn how to use simple ingredients to make healthy desserts and meals. We will be making Nut Butter Honey Granola Bars. Enjoy a Storywalk featuring the classic book Jamberry and visit the stables across the street at your leisure. Meet the horses and enjoy a free pony ride. Blackstone Valley Technical School Robotics Team will be co-hosting an interactive robotics demonstration for kids. There will be mini-robots to navigate through an obstacle course controlled by you! Can you do it?! Registration is required. Ages 6-12 will have an opportunity to operate the robot while those younger than 6 are welcome to enjoy the exhibit.

Henna, a plant-based dye that safely stains the skin for 1-2 weeks is a popular art form among teens. Henna by Jen will turn your hands into a work of art using an all-natural henna paste. Participation in this program is limited to students entering grades 6 through 12. Space is limited and registration is required. We are partnering with One Up Games for another Fortnite tournament that will be Zero-Build Solos! The entire event will consist of FOUR games with short breaks in between each game. Platforms include Xbox One / Series X, PlayStation 4 / 5, Nintendo Switch, or PC, and participants will need a Discord account. Registration is required. Calling all cosmic chefs! Alec Carvlin will be reading his debut picture book, How to Bake a Universe, at the Uxbridge Free Public Library! Kids will love decorating their own cosmic sunglasses, hearing the book read aloud by the author, and asking questions about the fun and funky science at the end. So come on down and bring nothing!
