Join the Voorheesville Public Library and Cornell Cooperative Extension of Albany County to discuss Preschool Clues: Raising Smart, Inspired, and Engaged Kids in a Screen-Filled World by award-winning creator of Blue's Clues, Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood and Super Why, Angela C. Santomero. Books will be given to registrants. The book discussion will be paired with current research from Cornell University’s Parenting Project: Healthy Children, Families and Communities. Learn researched-based practical tips on how to create a healthy media diet, reduce screen time guilt, and support our children’s academic, social, and emotional growth. For parents and caregivers of children 0 - 4 years. A virtual option via Zoom may be available as an option. Contact Gail Brown if interested in the virtual option. Albany Vanguard is hosting a musical instrument collection day in the library community room. Instruments collected will be made available to students in music programs that do not have the ability to purchase their own. Instruments are given to about 11 school districts in the capital region. Tax-deductible, donated instruments should be gently used and in good condition.

The tradition continues with the annual Voorheesville Family Bicycling Day! The Voorheesville Family Bicycling Day is a community-wide event that provides families with a safe and fun day of bicycling and family-friendly activities. We will have a true bicycle block party complete with music, food, fire trucks, a bounce house, craft time, bicycle skills class, a BMX demonstration, pony rides and farm animals to pet, guideded rides, and more! All activities will be on a closed bicycle riding loop (Grove Street and the Rail Trail). Supported through the efforts of the newly formed Voorheesville Running and Cycling Club. Come join the fun!
