Lisa Freeman Author Visit at Central Library
7:00 PM - 8:30 PM

Image of book cover; She Won't be Silenced

As victim’s advocate, passionate speaker, and author of She Won’t Be Silenced, there is something in Lisa Freeman’s motivational story that will resonate with everyone.  After the horrific murder of her father, Freeman slowly retreated into her ‘own room of grief.’ Twenty one years later, when notified that her father’s killer was eligible for parole four years earlier than expected she re-opened that closed door to deal with the trauma again. While reading her Victim Impact Statement,

Lisa was caught off guard as she was twice identified in front of the man who took her father’s life. She realized that she needed not a strong resolve to face his killer, but an even stronger one to find justice within the Parole Board of Canada, and ensure that her father's voice is heard as loudly as his killer's.

Copies of Lisa's book will be available for purchase at the event.

This program is intended for adults and registration is required. Please see contact information and registration below.
