Virtual Author Talk: Fearless

Join us for an online talk with Neil Thomas Proto, author of Fearless: A. Bartlett Giamatti and the Battle for Fairness in America. This book about the early years of A. Bartlett Giamatti, Yale University president and Major League Baseball commissioner, is a story of persistence against pernicious forms of racial and ethnic discrimination, and about the principled embrace of civic duty passed on generationally and used fully as the ethical sword and shield necessary to challenge them. The man who became Yale’s first non-Anglo-Saxon-Protestant president can be understood only in the context of his family, a history he knew, and the city of New Haven, where his relatives lived and he studied and taught. "Rest," he wrote, "will come by never resting."

This author talk will take place on Zoom -- please note that registration is required, as for online security reasons only registered attendees will be able to attend this event. Registered attendees will receive a Zoom link via email before the event.
