College Essay Workshop Series: Week 4 Drafting and Feedback

The college essay isn't just another academic essay and it doesn't have to be a painful process for you or your child / student. Join veteran teacher, college essay consultant, and Mystic resident Kristie Schmidt as she shares with participants her over 20 years of experience working with high school seniors on college essays from start to finish. Learn the dos and don'ts and break through the procrastination into productivity (weeks 1 and 2), experience the Common Application prompts deconstructed--find out what admissions officers look for, expect to read, and how to deliver, and walk away with a topic, started draft, and some feedback (weeks 3 and 4). Each session is one hour and includes time for Q&A.

Week 4: Drafting and Feedback For students only. Prerequisite attendance at Week 2 or 3. Learn how to jump that introduction hurdle. A practical writing session time via Google docs. Receive real time gentle, kind feedback that sets you up to finish that strong draft.
