Local author Ken Brack will give a talk on his new narrative nonfiction work Especially For You: Finding a New Purpose after Unspeakable Loss. After Brack, a journalist and former high school teacher, lost his oldest son in a car crash, he wondered how people can rebuild their lives after such a devastating loss. The book explores that question, focusing on families like his own from across the country and compiling their wrenching yet uplifting stories of finding a new purpose. Personal accounts range from families affected by the Holocaust to 9/11. Copies of the book will be available for sale with proceeds supporting Ken and Denise Brack’s nonprofit bereavement center, Hope Floats Healing and Wellness Center in Kingston, which has become a leading resource for grieving families in southern New England.
