Stories from the Archives: The Early Years of the Village of McMurray

Over 26,000 vehicles pass through the busy intersection of McMurray/Valley Brook Road every day. Learn how this area developed from a grist mill in the 1800s to a general store, post office, telephone company, and creamery in the 1900s. Stories from the Archives: The Early Years of the Village of McMurray will be presented virtually on Thursday, January 27, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. Staff members Margaret Deitzer and Carrie Weaver will share historical materials from the PTPL Archives. They will discuss the early development of the Village of McMurray into a thriving manufacturing and commercial center of Peters Township.

This program will now be offered via Zoom. Please register at ptlib.org/village. You must register in advance to receive the Zoom meeting invitation for this program. If you do not have access to a computer or Zoom and want to watch this program, please contact Sydney Krawiec at 724-941-9430 ext. 3260.
