Solar Eclipse Observation Station

Join us to watch as the Earth darkens and the moon blocks the sun from view! We'll have various methods of viewing safely. We'll also have our Data Detectives collecting and displaying weather and atmosphere related data, contributing to the science of the Globe Observer program and the Eclipse Soundscapes Project.

Patrons are also welcome to check out our display on our reading room bulletin board for Citzen Science Month to learn about the various ways to get involved in crowd-sourced science!

The Observation Station is supported by a Jay M. Pasachoff Solar Eclipse Mini-Grant from the American Astronomical Society’s Solar Eclipse Task Force, which is in turn supported by the National Science Foundation under Award No. 2318745.

Eclipse glasses are provided by the Space Science Institute, Starnet, the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, and the AAS Solar Eclipse Task Force.

This event contributes to One Million Acts of Science during Citizen Science Month!
