PLYMOUTH, MA — March 27, 2003 With Plymouth Rocket’s release of EventKeeper 4.0, libraries can take advantage of enhanced editing tools, new ways to view event data, and the ability to add conflict checking to their EventKeeper web calendars.

EventKeeper calendars are in use by libraries across the nation to enhance their Web sites with attractive, customizable, and dynamic Calendars of Events. “EventKeeper has been very effective and it’s saved us a lot of time.” says Peter Moore of Mansfield/Richland County (Ohio) Public Library. “At this point there's really nothing we've thought of that it doesn't do!”. Through simple on-line forms, EventKeeper clients are keeping their event listings up-to-date without downloading software or bothering the webmaster.

Check for Conflicts when Entering Events

Conflict checking can prevent overbooking of resources by notifying editors of conflicts based on event location or keywords. For example, a library can prevent double booking of meeting rooms or ensure that two children’s programs are not scheduled at the same time. This feature is included with the basic EventKeeper subscription and can be enabled and configured according to client needs.

More Ways to Enter and View Data

Entering events in the calendar is easy. For libraries that like to expand their event listings with graphics and information links, EventKeeper 4.0 includes a new field editor that provides help with basic HTML tags and shows the editor, as they type, what the entry will look like on the Web. Release 4.0 also makes it easier to add regularly repeating events. Two new features are available for viewing and exporting of event data; configurable “weekly” and “monthly” displays can be printed or cut-and-pasted for inclusion in newsletters or flyers. Viewers of library calendars can now send an email to “Tell a Friend” about a specific event.

The basic EventKeeper 4.0 package is still just $195 for one year. The subscription fee includes setup, support, and hosting of the EventKeeper data on Plymouth Rocket’s servers. Private and Spanish calendars are also available. For more information and a look at sample client calendars, please visit www.eventkeeper.com.
