Love writing and performing poetry? Join the teen slam poetry team, aka the Shifting Static Poets. We meet each week to share fresh new work. All teens ages 13-19 are welcome. Retired English teacher and poet Barb Jennes leads this inspired group of wordsmiths.
Join our weekly book club designed especially for adolescents (16 and up) and adults with intellectual and developmental challenges. Non-readers, non-verbal, emerging readers, fluent/avid readers are all welcome and encouraged to participate at their comfort level. The club allows members to socialize while being exposed to a variety of resources the library has to offer. Books are provided. Registration for first session covers entire 8-week cycle.

As a robotic LEGO Master Builder, you will build and program a robot to solve problems spread throughout the LEGO world! No previous robotic/programming skills needed. Registration is for one month at a time, but students are encouraged to attend multiple months for more practice and missions. Registration required. A9 A10

As part of the "Parenting the #Selfie Generation: Resilience for Life" series, join us as these experts discuss important mind/body issues of health and diet: Rena Bruckman, MS, RD-N; Debbie Chrabolowski, LPS; Arianna Pina, in recovery; and Marcie Schneider, MD. Topics to be covered include: understanding eating disorders and body dysmorphia, fostering a healthy relationship with food in your home, identifying a concern and seeking treatment, and paving the road to recovery. There is hope!

Join other families with children in grades 3-5 for a pizza dinner and a book discussion of Finding Langston by Lesa Cline-Ransome! Register online, in-person or by calling the Library. After registering, visit Lodewick Children’s Library to receive your free family copy of the book to read together before the discussion and place a refundable $5 deposit for that will be returned to your family at the program or if you notify the Library by noon on February 26nd that you will not be attending.
