ARTalk with Book Artists Mary Ting and Jean Tock - Sunday, April 7 @ 2:00 PM @ the Ridgefield Library

In conjunction with Freed Formats: the book reconsidered, a traveling series of book arts exhibitions and related programs that features 135 works of book art by 53 artists from 17 states and 2 countries and will take place at 8 venues in Connecticut and New York State from May through October 2019, the Ridgefield Library will present an ARTalk on Sunday, April 7 @ 2:00 p.m.This ARTalk will be given by two book artists from the Freed Formats show, Mary Ting and Jean Tock, who will both show and talk about their book art work through illustrated lectures with time for Q and A. This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about the book arts genre with two established book arts artists.

Book Arts are works of art that utilize the form of a book or refer to the book format in many creative ways. Two book book artists will talk about their individual work and then open up the program for Q and A. These two artists will be selected from a large group of book artists (over 50 artists) exhibiting their book art (over 130 artworks) in an exhibition titled Freed Books: the book reconsidered that is curated by Chris Perry and Alice Walsh and will be on view at the Ridgefield Guild of Artists and the Mark Twain Library from March 30 - April 28, 2019 and other locations in CT and New York through October 2019. The            co-curators for this event are, Chis Perry, chrisperry2332@gmail.com, and Alice Walsh.
