Event: Babysitting Certification Workshop

Saturday September 29, 2018
10:00 AM until 2:00 PM

Many new babysitters face fears when it comes time to begin babysitting. Will I know how to play with the children? What happens if they get hurt? How do I change a diaper?

This four hour class is designed to prepare teens to feel confident when accepting a babysitting job. It covers topics such as interviewing tips, getting paid, how children play, ages and stages, communicating with children, basic care, changing diapers, and handling emergencies. At the completion of the course, participants will take a brief quiz and certificates of completion will be distributed.

Instructor Amanda Tucker is a Kindergarten teacher and is certified in Early Childhood Education, General Education, Special Education, and holds a Master's Degree in Literacy.

Kids ages 10-18 are welcome to register for this four hour course. Since the program will occur over lunchtime participants are asked to bring a brown-bag lunch, a pencil, and notebook.
