Monday, May 17 from 7:00 - 8:30 PM

Persuasion by Jane Austen will be discussed.

Jane Austen’s final novel revolves around Anne Elliot and her family, including her father, Sir Walter, who is a member of the minor aristocracy. Years earlier, Anne, who is dangerously close to being considered an old maid, was persuaded by her overly class-conscious family to reject the proposal of a young naval officer with little prospects. He is now successful Captain Wentworth, who is still bitter towards Anne and her family. When Wentworth and Anne cross paths through shared social circles, Anne realizes she has never stopped loving him.
