Creating Musical Readers is a musical literacy program for children and their caregivers developed and presented by the Waterbury Symphony Orchestra. WSO musicians bring beloved children's stories to life, by playing their instruments along with the reading of the story. Guest musicians will talk about their instruments and what it is like to play in an orchestra.
"Max picks up the sticks and begins tapping out the rhythms of everything he sees and hears around him...the sound of pigeons startled into flight, of rain against the windows, of distant church bells and the rumble of a subway. And then, when a marching band rounds Max's corner, something wonderful happens."
Lee Caron a percussionist with the Waterbury Symphony will accompany the reading on the drums. Recommended for ages 4 and up.Meeting Room
