Join us for this 6-8 week series exploring Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew.  (Exact end date TBD, but program will start on Thursday, April 8th.) This comic play written around 1590 depicts the courtship of Petruchio and Katharina.  It has been adapted for both the stage and screen perhaps most famously by Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor in the 1967 film.  Participants will be assigned a part each week by program host Frances Gilmore. Participants are requested to attend each session in the series.  For more information, contact the library at 793-5055.

After receiving an NEA Grant to study Shakespeare while teaching in Edgemont Schools, Frances Gilmore began offering Shakespeare Read Aloud as Adult Education. Over the past few years at EPL, the class has read a total of seven plays, most recently Henry IV, Parts I and II and Othello over Zoom.

Each week, an email is sent to students with reading assignments as well as clues to action occurring. We use the Folger Shakespeare Library's editions for reading.
