Walk 10: George Washington Campground. We will meet on Rt 44 OUTSIDE the campground entrance promptly at 8:00 a.m. Park on the dirt and grass OFF the shoulder of the road. The Glocester Police allow parking here.
In 1965, Australian sailors stationed in Newport provided the manpower that created the Walkabout Trails. We will hike the scenic blue trail.
Wear comfortable sturdy footwear because the trails feature rocks and tree roots. Bring both water and insect repellant. Most trails require us to walk single file so we’re socially distanced.
