"Up Goes Huddy" Captain Joshua Huddy's Untimely Execution
Joshua Huddy was reputed to be the Loyalist's worst enemy during the Revolutionary War. In 1782, while defending the naval base and saltworks at Toms River, Huddy was taken to NY and executed by a band of Loyalists. This execution threatened the Paris Peace Treaty.
John Fabiano, Executive Director of the Monmouth County Historical Commission will explore Joshua Huddy's Revolutionary War service, untimely execution and the circumstances leading to the Treaty's eventual success.
