Add this Event to Calendar 02/23/2021 02:00 PM 02/23/2021 03:00 PM Local Author Revue

Join us in meeting two local authors who bring experience, knowledge and laughter to the table! They won't be singing and dancing like at a traditional revue, but we will learn about their process and experience as authors, and get to ask them questions in an open discussion.

Deborah Burns, C.P.C., is a former women’s media Chief Innovation Officer and brand leader for ELLEgirl, Metropolitan HomeELLE Décor, and ELLE International. As an industry consultant, she helps brands and executives reinvent, and she then did the same with her own life by writing her debut memoir, Saturday’s Child, and founding Skirting the Rules® to help others reinvent as she did. Now, Authorize It!: Think Like a Writer to Win at Work & Life has evolved into a corporate speaking platform, LinkedIn Learning course—and her next book.

Jerry Zezima writes a humor column for Tribune News Service, which distributes it to papers nationwide and abroad. If you have ever wondered why the newspaper industry is in trouble, it would be because of him. Mr. Zezima is the author of five books, “Leave It to Boomer,” “The Empty Nest Chronicles,” “Grandfather Knows Best,” “Nini and Poppie’s Excellent Adventures” and “Every Day Is Saturday,” all of which are crimes against literature. They also come in handy for propping up wobbly table legs. If you suffer from insomnia, you might even want to read them. As a chilling example of just how low journalistic standards have sunk, he has won many awards, including seven for humorous writing from the National Society of Newspaper Columnists.
