Meet internationally known graphic novelist Wilfrid Lupano and illustrator Stephane Fert as they join us remotely from France for a conversation about their newest collaboration! In January, 2021, Dargaud Publishers in France released Blanc Autour (which translates to ‘white all around’), a graphic novel that tells the story of Prudence Crandall’s Canterbury School from the perspective of the African American students. Joanie DiMartino, Museum Curator & Site Superintendent of the Prudence Crandall Museum, will lead the conversation with Lupano and Fert, as well as share her thoughts on this creative rendering of the tumultuous history of the School, for which she wrote the Afterword.  Europe Comics, publisher of the English translation of the novel White All Around, has generously offered a free E-copy of the English edition to all attendees.

Sign language interpretation will be available.  This free program will take place over Zoom.  Registration is required; you may register on this page.  You will receive the Zoom link a few days before the program.
